Frequently Asked Questions
“Inner peace begins the moment you choose not to allow another person or event to control your emotions.” — Pema Chodron
What airport do we fly into?
Most retreat guests fly into Phoenix the nearest major airport, which is about two hours drive to Sedona. You can also fly into Flagstaff a smaller airport about one hour drive to Sedona. Note – Flagstaff is 7500 feet elevation (Sedona is about 4500), so it can be cold with periodic snow in Winter (Dec-Feb), so plan accordingly. You may also drive from your home if preferred – make it a fun road trip!
Do I need to have a car?
Highly encourage all retreat clients have their own vehicle, to get to/from Phoenix or Flagstaff airport (shuttles are $130+). Couples and friends/family doing retreat together can have one vehicle for retreat, and we will coordinate sessions to reduce driving time, with all/most sessions taking place at the beautiful Self-Love Retreat Center. The Self-Love Guest House is one quarter mile from the Self-Love Retreat Center (3-5 min drive). Sedona is quaint, though a bit spread out. Client guests will have the most flexibility and freedom to explore while not in session with own vehicle. Many sessions happen at the Self-Love Retreat Center, some take place at private Practitioner locations within West Sedona (5-10 minute drive from the Self-Love Guest House). Note – the Self-Love Guest House is centrally-located in West Sedona, with many nearby restaurants, markets, shops, trails, and other tourist attractions. If you opt not to have a vehicle during your Sedona Self-Love Retreat, you will need to arrange your own transportation. We can provide local resources upon booking.
What is the weather like in Sedona?
Sedona is beautiful year-round! It is an arid high-desert climate, very dry throughout the year. Best to drink a lot of water to stay hydrated. Weather varies seasonally – see averages here:
What should I bring?
Sedona attire is casual, so dress comfortably. Shorts and tank tops or sun dresses recommended in Summer, layers good in Fall, and warm layers in Winter. Light jacket for Spring and Fall evenings, and heavier Winter jacket Dec-Feb. Sunglasses and refillable water bottle highly recommended, as well sunscreen especially in Summer. You will also need a pair of sneakers or trail runners for getting out on the land. You may want to bring a journal for self-reflection throughout your stay. Cell phone/camera is a must!
Will all my sessions be private?
Yes all retreat sessions are private one-on-one – just you and your Practitioner. This allows the freedom for you to completely let go, be honest, and facilitate the deepest healing possible. It also enables each of your Practitioners to fully tailor your sessions for your needs, and meet you where you are at in the moment. Couples, friends, and family on retreat together often do some solo sessions, and some sessions together. These “together” sessions are still private – just your couple or group with your Practitioner (no other participants).
How many days are best for my retreat?
Retreat itineraries vary and length of stay is a personal decision. Most retreats are one week or less, include 3-5 days participating in sessions, and possibly staying in Sedona one to two additional days to best absorb your relaxing, soul-searching experience. Shorter retreats can be concise and powerful. Longer retreats may be necessary when dealing with heavier emotional issues, when your soul feels very depleted, or you simply want a longer getaway. Your schedule and budget may also impact retreat duration. Day packages are also available, which include three or more sessions. Best to call the office Mon-Fri 9am-5pm at 928-458-8593 to customize your perfect Sedona experience!
What do people do for meals?
You will get 1-2 hours free each day for lunch. Each guest room at the Self-Love Guest House has a large mini-frig along with electric kettle, dishes and serving ware, mugs, teas, instant oats, and reverse osmosis drinking water. Some guests enjoy breakfast in the room or at the outside guest patio. With multiple markets nearby, it is easy to stock the frig. The retreat concludes between 4 and 6pm each day, so most clients go out for dinner. There are many nearby restaurants with plentiful food options for all budgets. Food recommendations will be sent upon registration. While staying at the Self-Love Guest House you may include the wellness add-on for an additional fee, wherein your guest room frig will be pre-stocked with ready-made healthy plant-based breakfast and lunch foods.
Do you allow animals at the Self-Love Guest House?
We love animals, though no animals permitted at the Self-Love Guest House. Please leave your animal companion at home during your Self-Love Retreat. Guest rooms are carpeted, and other guests may be allergic. Travelling without animals also most conducive for focused personal Sedona sojourn. There are outside lodging options, if you need to bring your animal – can provide resources upon booking.
May I change my schedule once booked, or what if I need to cancel?
Session changes are highly discouraged because we begin scheduling your retreat once you make your reservation. Practitioners are holding space in their calendar for each of your sessions. Also, we typically review multiple session options before finalizing any retreat package, so much thought and intuition goes into crafting each itinerary. If you feel a strong need to change a session, please let us know as soon as possible. Note – any session change request will incur a $100 fee (per session), and is subject to Practitioner availability. For retreat/day package cancellations, a credit may be issued to be used within one year. See full retreat/day package cancellation policy here.

“My retreat was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. Breanna is lovely, I connected with her right away. The space was just what I needed – peaceful, quiet and comfortable. Breanna is very knowledgeable and accommodating. My yoga hikes were incredible! I left my retreat with an overwhelming sense of happiness. Thank you for helping me re-connect with myself and open my heart up to possibility. I am forever grateful for my time spent in Sedona.”
“I am a frequent Sedona visitor, and whenever I stay at Breanna’s place, it is always clean and very comfortable to stay and to rejuvenate. It is located in a very convenient and quiet area, where all the major hiking trails and grocery stores are easily accessed. The place is also surrounded by tall trees, plants and it is very healing. Breanna interacts with guests with respect and a mindful manner. She replies to my questions very quickly when it occurs to me. It has been wonderful to have found her and to be welcomed to stay at her Zen-like sweet room.”
