What airport do we fly into?
Most retreat guests fly into Phoenix the nearest major airport, which is about two hours drive to Sedona. You can also fly into Flagstaff a smaller airport about one hour to Sedona by car or shuttle. Note – Flagstaff is 7500 feet elevation (Sedona is about 4500), so it can be cold with periodic snow in Winter (Dec-Feb), so plan accordingly. You may also drive from your home if preferred – make it a fun road trip!
Do I need to have a car?
A vehicle is highly recommended, but not required. Most clients would need to hire a shuttle to and from the airport which is $109+, so rental car often makes more sense. It is also encouraged due to the fact Sedona is spread out, and there are great places and sites to explore, more accessible with a car. Some sessions are a 10-15 minute drive from the Self-Love Guest House. Sedona has taxis, Uber, and Lyft, so you can get by without a vehicle. The great thing about staying at the Self-Love Guest House is the central location in West Sedona, where there are plenty nearby shops, restaurants, markets, and other tourist attractions. You can walk around town, and get to sessions either on foot or by calling a taxi or shuttle as needed.
What is the weather like in Sedona?
Sedona is an arid high-desert climate, very dry throughout the year. Best to drink a lot of water to stay hydrated. Weather varies seasonally – see average high/low temperatures by month here:
January – 60/34
February – 64/36
March – 69/40
April – 76/45
May – 86/53
June – 96/61
July – 100/68
August – 97/67
September – 91/61
October – 80/51
November – 68/41
December – 60/34
What should I bring?
Sedona attire is very casual, so dress comfortably. Shorts and tank tops or sun dresses recommended in Summer, layers good in Fall, and warm layers in Winter. Light jacket for Spring and Fall evenings, and heavier Winter jacket Dec-Feb. Sunglasses and refillable water bottle highly recommended, as well as sunscreen if needed. You will also need a pair of sneakers or trail runners for getting out on the land. Please also bring house slippers for use between guest bedroom and bathroom after doing self-care Abhyanga oil massage. Phone or camera is a must!
Will all my sessions be private?
Yes all retreat sessions are private one-on-one – just you and your Practitioner. This allows the freedom for you to completely let go, be honest, and facilitate the deepest healing possible. It also enables each of your Practitioners to fully tailor your sessions for your needs, and meet you where you are at in the moment. You are welcome to set up your own private group sessions with friends or family members – then session would be with you and your family or friends with your Practitioner (no other participants).
How many days are best for my retreat?
Retreat itineraries vary and length of stay is a personal decision. Most retreats include 3-5 days participating in sessions, and possibly staying in Sedona one to two additional days to best absorb your relaxing, soul-searching experience. Shorter retreats can be concise and powerful. Longer retreats may be necessary when dealing with heavier emotional issues, when your soul feels very depleted, or you simply want a longer getaway. Your schedule and budget may also impact retreat duration. Best to call and discuss various retreat options.
What do people do for meals?
You will get a 1-2-hour break each day for lunch. Both guest rooms at the Self-Love Guest House have a large mini-frig along with electric kettle, dishes and serving ware, mugs, tea assortment and instant oats. Some clients have breakfast in the room or at the outside guest patio. With multiple markets nearby it is easy to stock the frig. The retreat concludes between 4 and 6pm each day, so most clients go out for dinner. There are plenty of restaurant options in all different price ranges. Food recommendations will be sent upon registration. While staying at our Self-Love Guest House you may include the wellness add-on for an additional fee wherein your guest room frig will be stocked ahead with ready-made healthy plant-based breakfast and lunch foods.
Do you allow animals at the Self-Love Guest House?
Sorry no animals permitted at the Self-Love Guest House. So please plan to leave your animal companion at home during your Self-Love Retreat. Guest rooms are carpeted, and other guests may be allergic. This is also best for your one-pointed focus upon spiritual healing and personal development. If preferred, you are welcome to bring an animal if staying elsewhere – would need to check with other lodging if allowed.
May I change my schedule once booked, or what if I need to cancel?
Session changes are highly discouraged because we begin scheduling your retreat once you make your reservation. Retreat cancellations are rare. Practitioners are holding space in their calendar for each of your sessions. Also, we typically review multiple session options before finalizing any retreat package, so much thought and intuition goes into crafting each itinerary. If you feel a strong need to change a session, please let us know as soon as possible. Note – any post-reservation session changes will incur a $100 change fee and are subject to Practitioner availability. For retreat cancellations, a credit may be issued to be used within one year. Note – Self-Love Guest House reservations are non-refundable, but may qualify for 1-year credit. See retreat proposal for full policy.
